About the Captain
20 Years of Fishing Experience in Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach, Melbourne & Orlando Area
My name is Captain Dach Anderson, a native Floridian with a passion for the sea, holding a USCG Master 50 ton license with a towing endorsement. My fishing journey began in the lagoon, where I honed my skills catching trophy-sized redfish, black drum, and tarpon. My adventure expanded from inshore to the thrilling realms of nearshore and offshore fishing, stretching from Ponce Inlet to Port Canaveral. Here, I've mastered the art of trolling for kingfish, tuna, dolphin (mahi-mahi), and sailfish, as well as bottom fishing for mangrove snappers, red snappers, groupers, and a variety of other reef fish on the vibrant reefs. Each trip out on the water brings the same excitement as my first, fueled by my love for the ocean and its wonders—from observing majestic sea turtles to enjoying the company of dolphins alongside the boat. What I cherish most, however, is witnessing the joy and thrill on my guests' faces as they reel in their catch, battling it to the boat. As a captain for Salty Hooks Fishing Charter, I'm dedicated to providing unforgettable fishing experiences in Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral, Melbourne, and Orlando, sharing the beauty and bounty of the ocean with every angler aboard.
Everglades fishing
The Everglades boats represent the pinnacle of maritime engineering, and Salty Hooks Fishing Charter proudly utilizes these top-tier vessels for their excursions. The construction of the Everglades boats spares no expense, featuring the renowned Ramcap design that is a hallmark of the brand. This design not only ensures exceptional durability but, combined with a foam-infused hull, renders the boat virtually unsinkable. Additionally, the added weight from this construction technique enhances its sea-handling capabilities, allowing it to navigate through waters with unparalleled stability.
The Everglades 325 model, employed by Salty Hooks Fishing Charter, comes fully equipped with state-of-the-art electronics, including Garmin 16" and 12" screens that provide crystal-clear views of the underwater environment, alongside essential communication tools like a VHF radio. For safety, the boat is outfitted with an EPIRB, life jackets, and a throw ring. Comfort is not overlooked, as the boat features a functional head (bathroom), sinks, fresh water, raw water wash down, stern and bow seating, and a spacious T-top for shade. This vessel is meticulously designed to enhance the fishing experience, making it a prime choice for those looking to explore the waters off Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral, Melbourne, and Orlando with Salty Hooks Fishing Charter.
